About the Event

Ageism is real – whether you're too old or too young, the stereotypes exist.

In this 1-hour discussion, Chelle will be talking with pro-ageing experts Barabara Brooks and Janine Vanderburg about the myths and realities of ageism in the workplace, how they affect us, and how to be bold and counteract them.

We’ll discuss:

  • How ageism shows up in recruitment and the workplace – and in ourselves
  • Clarity on the myths and stereotypes of ageism
  • How and why it’s important to foster age-inclusive workspaces
  • Tips and strategies to play the age card to our career advantage

Join us as we celebrate Older Americans Month by acknowledging the realities that we may all face throughout our careers.

About Janine

As CEO of Encore Roadmap, Janine speaks, writes and consults with businesses and brands on how they can become more age-inclusive, leverage the skills of older workers, and help intergenerational teams succeed.

Janine founded Changing the Narrative, a leading U.S. campaign to end ageism, through which she's trained over 20,000 of people across the world in ageism, reframing aging and creating more age-inclusive workplaces and marketing.

Janine's work has earned her various awards including: Top 25 Powerful Women in Business by Colorado Women's Chamber of Commerce, the Metro Vision Award from Denver Regional Council of Governments, and ASA’s 2024 Award for Success in Diminishing Ageism.

A lawyer, social entrepreneur, and community organizer, what drives Janine is the belief that human potential should not be wasted, and that people of all ages, identities and zip codes should have an opportunity to contribute their strengths and talents.
